Board of Directors
Haya Washington is guided by a distinguished Board of Directors composed of professionals and leaders from diverse fields whose expertise strengthens the organization’s mission and commitment to serving vulnerable communities with dignity and long-term impact.
Salma Al-Taji Al-Farouqi is a Palestinian cultural activist known as the “Guardian of Andalusian Heritage.” Based in Córdoba, Spain, she founded several museums and heritage institutions that preserve Islamic and Andalusian history and foster intercultural dialogue.
Dr. Basma Ahmad Sidqi Dajani is a Professor of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Jordan and a prolific scholar whose research focuses on Arabic literature, cultural dialogue, and Arabic language education.
Jihan Farouk Al-Hussaini is the CEO of Haya Washington and a journalist dedicated to humanitarian service, education, and community development. Through her leadership, she has helped shape the organization’s vision and guide its efforts to support vulnerable families, displaced communities, and children affected by conflict.

Maha Al-Nabulsi has experience in private sector cooperation, finance, and strategic development. Her expertise in advisory work and institutional partnerships supports Haya Washington in building sustainable collaborations and enhancing the long-term impact of its initiatives.
Advisory board
Professor Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Palestinian-Canadian physician, educator, and internationally recognized peace and human rights advocate. A five-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, he is the acclaimed author of I Shall Not Hate and the founder of Daughters for Life, a charity advancing educational opportunities for young women across the Middle East. As a member of Haya Washington’s Advisory Board, Dr. Abuelaish contributes his extensive experience in global health, humanitarian advocacy, education, and peacebuilding.
Guy Christensen is an American activist and digital content creator known for his outspoken advocacy for Palestinian rights. Through his online platforms, he has reached millions of people worldwide, raising awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and mobilizing support for Palestinian families. As a member of Haya Washington’s Advisory Board, Guy contributes his advocacy experience, public voice, and commitment to advancing the organization’s humanitarian mission.
